  • Cannot Access ABC Website

    Using my primary home computer running Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7 I am unable to connect to the ABC website, or any of its derivatives. I have tried removing all cookies, resetting Internet Explorer, and removing all the ABC.net.au entries in the registry but this has not fixed the problem. Additionally, I also cannot access the website when using Firefox. However, I can access the website on a different computer in the house, which is connected to the same network. My ISP has not been able to provide a solution to this issue. (more…)

    When I search Google Images the results screen presents with images about the size of a postage stamp. I can click on the images and it then produces an image which is about the size of a playing card. Is it possible to increase all the images to full screen? The computer is running Windows XP.     A number of people have reported that they cannot open attachments on my email messages, particularly letters and photos. We have the latest version of Windows and use Microsoft Word for email attachments. Should we be converting our attachments into a previous version of Windows? (more…)

  • Norton Security Centre and Windows Security Centre

    Norton Internet Security 2008 is installed on my Windows XP Home Edition SP3 computer. Now every time I start the computer Norton automatically disables the Windows Security Centre and Windows Firewall. I would like to maximise my protection and would like to leave these two utilities enabled. Can you explain how this can be achieved? (more…)

    Having upgraded my computer to Windows XP Service Pack 3 I have been unable to access a particular website. When I go to the website a logon box appears where I need to enter my username and password. However, it keeps returning me to the logon page and does not accept my credentials. The site managers inform me that everything is working fine at their end, so the problem must relate to my computer. The website used to work perfectly fine before installing Service Pack 3. This problem does not occur on any other websites. (more…)
