Torn Quicktime logo

I have a couple of problems with my internet. The first relates to downloading. Whenever I try to download a file off the internet, a torn or ripped version of the Quicktime logo appears on my screen after which nothing else seems to work. This is a relatively recent problem, with no previous history. The second problem relates to the downloading of a Webshots Desktop package. A message is displayed ‘Error locating Object Handler’ with a comment that there is no viewer available for the type of object that I am trying to open. I have tried to follow the prompts to download a viewer but the directions and options are not clear so I have now given up on this task. I am not sure if the above problems are related. My PC is a Pentium II 350 with 252 Mb RAM, Windows 98. I use Internet Explorer 5. (more…)

Copying vinyl to CD

Windows Media Player not playing CDs offline

Windows Media player will not play my CD’s off-line. It demands my connecting to the web before it will operate. My machine will freeze unless I do. This phenomenon is recent. Is there a way around it (as I really don’t wish to connect to the net just to play my own CD’s)? (more…)

Reading photos from Windows 95

My newly purchased digital camera requires Windows 98 SE. The software that comes with this camera is Adobe Photo Deluxe HE 3.0. As a visual artist, I needed to upgrade from my old digital camera which ran on Windows 95. Can you please advise me how to access in Windows 98 SE all of the photos that I have saved to floppy disks and CDs through Windows 95. I am running a Pentium MMX 200Mhz, 4gb hard drive, and 32mb of RAM. (more…)
