  • Playing music in a chat room

    Occasionally I go to Yahoo chat rooms where a group of people play music. To play music I press the talk button and then play music from the speakers into the microphone. However, other people in the room play music through their sound card which allows them to type a message at the same time, and the sound quality is better. Can you tell me how to play from the sound card? The computer is running Windows XP. (more…)

  • Audacity recorded file skips

    When using Audacity to record LPs to the computer hard drive, the recorded file always skips when being played back or copied to a CD. The computer is an IBM Aptiva with 64 MB RAM (54% free) running Windows 98. How can I prevent the skipping? (more…)

  • Graphics selection tool

    I have a photo of a bottle, with a red background. I am trying to find a graphics program that will let me select and delete the red the background, leaving only the bottle on a white background. I am currently using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and I cannot find such a feature. The computer is running Windows XP Home Edition. (more…)

  • Photoshop not correctly displaying colours

    Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is not correctly displaying the colours on screen, as there is a purple tint to everything. There are no problems with colour in any other applications such as Fireworks MX. A clue to this problem may be an error that appears when starting Photoshop warning that the current colour profile is not supported. I try to select another profile, but none of the others work.     I received an email with a video clip attachment ‘Edit2.MSWMM (51 KB)’. However, when attempting to open the video clip the following error message appears ‘Windows Movie Maker. The file ‘C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsMy Videomovie.wmv’ cannot be found. Would you like to browse for it? The computer is a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz with 256 MB RAM running Windows XP Home Edition.
