My HP PSC 750 printer will always print from the last page to the first page, even when I select the box to print ‘Front to Back’. How do I make the printer start with the first page? Whenever printing a web page from Internet Explorer the computer restarts without notice. I have recently re-formatted my hard drive and completed a full virus and spyware/adware scan. This problem only exists when printing from Internet Explorer, and no other applications. My Printer is a Canon S200SPx, and the computer is running Windows XP with an ADSL internet connection. When attempting to print to my Canon BJC-4310SP, occasionally an error message appears informing me there is an error writing to LPT1: the printer is out of paper. However, there is paper in the printer. Sometimes turning the printer off, then sending the print job, and pressing the power button again will fix the problem. However, other times this will not fix the issue and it will repeatedly occur. Reinstalling the printer driver has not fixed the problem. In recent weeks, my Canon BJC-70 printer changed its mode of operation. Firstly, it frequently produces a warning that ‘The margins of section 1 are outside the printable area’ even though I have not changed the style of my documents. Secondly, the ‘Print’ dialogue has changed. Previously I had a choice of greyscale, colour or monochrome on the first ‘page’ of the dialogue, but now I must click through to ‘Properties’ > ‘Graphics’ > ‘Colour’ to find the option. Furthermore, it defaults to printing colour, so I must set the colour options to black and white each time I print. How can I stop the error message occurring and also default the printer to black and white? I have not, to my knowledge, downloaded any new printer drivers so I am mystified by this change of dialogue. Is it possible the system has defaulted to some generic driver in Windows? When I print while connected to the internet I am disconnected after the first page prints. My ISP cannot find a problem. A friend checked the whole system including uninstalling and reinstalling the printer. The problem still exists. The computer runs Windows 98 with a HP PSC1210 Printer. (more…)
