Unwanted programs
By skid on June 14, 1999 in Security and malware | No Comments
I am running Windows 98. When using the Internet, unwanted/uninvited programs install themselves on my hard drive. Usually, these are removed when the history folder is cleared; however some have stayed on. I have tried to remove these programs by using the Add/Remove facility, but get the message that the file program.exe cannot be located. Can you please suggest ways I can remove these programs as I like to keep my hard disk as uncluttered as possible. (more…)

If I do download your advised program, what’s the best way of getting rid of all the eSafe files, etc? I’m running Windows 95. (more…)

My advice is that it’s a worm/trojan type virus, whereby it plants itself on my hard drive and sits there until it corrupts it. The awful part is that it can attach itself to my outgoing email without my knowledge. My anti-virus software, which has been updated recently, did not even pick up this worm virus. What can I do to eradicate it? (more…)
