Music Distorted When Burning DVD

When listening to music while burning a DVD the music sounds scratchy and distorted. It does not matter whether I am using iTunes or Windows Media Player to listen to music, both have the same result. The computer is running Windows XP. (more…)

Sound Does Not Work

Since moving house the sound on my computer no longer works, including CDs, MP3s, and Windows system sounds. The speakers (which are integrated into the monitor) are plugged into the speaker jack on the sound card and the sound is not muted. How can I fix this problem? The computer is running Windows XP. No Sound in Windows Media Player

Whenever viewing a video using Internet Explorer, or downloading a video and playing using Windows Media Player there is no sound. The sound on the computer itself appears to work, as I can use iTunes to play CDs without any problems. The computer is running Windows XP. (more…)

Word Documents Display Incorrectly

I have recently purchased a new computer running Windows Vista Business Edition. Whenever I open a Microsoft Word email attachment in Word this appears as a mixture of machine language and plain text. How can I get the attachment to display correctly? (more…)

Skype audio

Recently a friend setup Skype on my Windows XP Professional computer. To talk over Skype I purchased a Logitech microphone headset. All seems to be working correctly, and I can hear other callers and also Windows system sounds (such as the Windows XP startup sound). However, other people cannot hear me. I have tried adjusting all the settings, and followed the Skype instructions, but still to no avail. Is it possible that I have faulty headphones?
