    I have VC++ 5.0 and VC++ 6.0 installed on my computer. I re-installed Windows 95 as the system was sluggish and unstable and this required me to re-install both items of software. Once done however, both caused problems: VC++ 5.0 said when installing that a required *.dll file, IVAUTO.dll was not loaded correctly and when running the program I get that the file ‘deviv.pkg’ was not able to be loaded, and a message to re-install the program. However, both these two files are on the system and installed. VC++ 6.0 requires DCOM and IE4 to work. Whilst DCOM is installed properly, when trying to install IE4 off the CD, it gives the error that the proxy server was down, I should try connecting again later. It need not install files from the internet however, as all those required are on the CD. What should I do? (more…)

    I currently have an Intel Pentium II 450 with 192mb ram. I’m running FreeBSD 2.2.7-RELEASE and I cant ‘cvsup’ to FreeBSD 3.0-STABLE. Could you perhaps assist me in this matter as it requires changing the kernel from a.out to ELF (more…)
