    I have an annoying problem with Outlook 2000. I use Outlook Express 5 and have Outlook 2000 and would like to migrate from Outlook Express to Outlook 2000. However, every time I open Outlook 2000 I get the message ‘C:WindowsApplication dataMicrosoftAddins is not a valid Office addin’. How do I get rid of this message? I am using Windows 98 and Office 2000 with Internet Explorer 5.5. (more…)

    I run Windows 98 with Microsoft Outlook 97 and Internet Explorer 5. I continually get the ‘Blue Screen of Death’ with the following error message ‘A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C154E79C in VXD MCSCAN32(01) + 000194BC. The current application will be terminated. Press any key to terminate the application. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL again to restart your computer.   • Send email in Outlook causes Unknown Error

    When I try to send a new email in Microsoft Outlook I get the message ‘An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart the program (Account: ……., STMP: …….., Error number: 0×80070057)’. However, if I have an email to reply to then Outlook works perfectly. I am running Office 2000 on Windows 98 and this problem does not appear to be associated with any new hardware or software. However, my computer has recently been infected with the KakWorm virus.   • Links cause The page cannot be found

    I have a 600mhz computer running Windows 98. Each time I click onto a link in Internet Explorer I get the message ‘The page cannot be found. The page you are looking for…’. I ignore the message and press ‘Reload’, and all works fine. However, it is an annoyance. How might I fix this problem? (more…)

  • All icons replaced

    While downloading Microsoft recommended updates I have inadvertently downloaded a program which replaces all icons with the Microsoft download logo. I have uninstalled all the programs which I installed on that particular day but the ‘download’ icons persist. How can I get back to how the system was running originally?
