On opening Outlook 2000 a message appears on screen that ?Outlook.Exe - Entry Point Not found. The procedure entry point ?g_DebugFlags@@3HA could not be located in the dynamic link library mytilus.dll?. When I click OK to close the message everything continues to work fine, but I would like to get rid of this message. The computer is running Windows XP. The mytilus.dll file is a component of the McAfee Virus Scanning software package. I imagine this message is appearing when starting Outlook as it is likely that McAfee integrates with Outlook to provide email virus scanning. However, for some reason or another, a file relating to McAfee cannot be found, resulting in that error message appearing. If you currently have any McAfee Virus Scanning software installed on your computer then the best method to resolve this problem would be to reinstall the McAfee software. This should reinstall the file (should it be corrupt) and should also re-establish any links between the McAfee software and Outlook. However, if you do not have any McAfee software installed at the moment then this could indicate that previously such software was installed, and was improperly uninstalled (e.g. deleting the McAfee Program Files directory, which removed the McAfee files but not the links with other software packages). In this situation, your best option is to reinstall McAfee and then properly uninstall the software using the ?Add/Remove Programs? control panel. If this is not an option, the next best alternative is to search the McAfee Knowledge Base (https://knowledge.mcafee.com) for manual removal instructions for your product. Doing a quick search for various McAfee products when researching your question showed that there are manual removal instructions for most products, but without knowing the exact product which was installed on your computer I unfortunately cannot point you towards the most suitable link. Therefore, I suggest that you try searching the knowledge base for the instructions relevant to your product. |
